i am sure you know from a previous that i have a bit of an obsession with rachel bilson and now she has managed to do something to make me love her even more. she recently announced her upcoming fashion line edie rose for dkny. unfortunately her line is not due out until september but what i do have is some pictures of the lovely miss rachel bilson modeling some of her pieces.

my favorite thing about her line has to be her use of yellow. seriously yellow is the color of the moment and hopefully stays that way for a while because i personally cannot get enough of it. especially in the form of cute mini dresses as seen in the photo on the right. this line gets an a+++ from me and i am sure you will be hearing more about it when i get my hands on some of it.

way to fail yet again bcbg. i usually love your stuff. actually i am pretty sure most of what you sell in stores is really cute. actually some of what was on the runway was cute (not whatever the fuck is on the left, that shit is just fug) if it wasn't for that awful belt. let's take for example the dress on the right. its adorable, the lace on the top is tdf and it has pockets which you know i go crazy over yet some douchebag had to come around and be like "omg guyz lets put belts on all des purdy dresses!!!!11!!!"... awful awful awful idea. whoever had that idea should be banned from the fashion industry forever. i cannot even handle this shit, but still this is an upgrade from last season so i guess you at least have that. hopefully it will continue going uphill from here.

here i am to bring you the best and worst and such of ny fashion week fall 07. now as always i will start off with alexander wang and go through through the rest in alphabetical order because that's how everything is saved on my comp just in case you were wondering. i know, highly doubtful, but i can dream.

anyway i should probably focus on wang's most beautiful collection. i am really digging him both this season and last. it is very casual and just chill but not in the boring way. it's also kind of hipster and so being hipster scum i do enjoy it. i also am digging the lack of pants in the outfit to the right. i for one never wear pants when i can (being it is winter in nyc i cannot afford such a luxury) so i am glad i am trendy by doing and less so skanky. maybe this will convince my dad i am not a hooker and just trying to be fashionable.

now here is another cute hipster outfit. i just adore how this whole thing is put together (minus the hat which is just fug and unnecessary, i mean what girls wear beanies these days??? hopefully very few). i would wear this all the time but i dunno how practical it would be for late fall. i feel like with all the rips in the tights would make me kinda cold. oh well when i am back in lalaland i can wear it all the time. oh i miss la weather. oh well. i am slightly in love with the marc by marc jacobs fall 2008 line, but i will go into more detail when i do my fall 2008 new york fashion week posts. for now i would just like someone to please explain this out fit to me. i am just confused. at first i am like oh weird blue sweater underneath but whatever. then i took a closer look and could not for the life of me figure out where it was coming from. there is seemingly no top to it. please someone let me know what the hell is going on. is it attached to the shirt or maybe the vest or even the jacket???? someone just figure it out so i don't loose to many nights of sleep trying to solve this mystery...

okay so i know i have had a few too many fashionspiration posts as of late but i have been looking at jenny lewis pictures and fuck i just wanna spend a day thrifting with her. she has so many amazing pieces and so much gold at that and i fucking LOVE gold. i seriously need to go on a road trip and just go from store to store because thrift stores in nyc and la are ridiculously priced and aren't even that great. anyway back to jenny and her beautiful sense of style.

if you know me you probably know that i love rachel bilson. i even sat through the entirety of the last kiss for her (and the gay black neighbor). i have always looked up to her style as well as summer roberts' of course. though she has not been on screen lately she has still be out and about being a little fashionista.

if you have been following her style lately you probably have noticed her distinct button down shirt, jeans, and brown boots combo usually with the addition of an adorable scarf. i also love when she tucks her shirt into jeans that aren't high waisted and just makes it look chic as fuck. also somehow she makes everything perfectly in place even when she kinda looks like she just casually through some clothes on like in the second pictures down. her amazing sense of fashion seems almost effortless, which makes her even more of a style icon in my eyes. someone please teach me how to be her.

America's Most Smartest Model

wow can you say addicting? this show might be one of the best things to happen to z-list models. none of these people except the pyscho soviet and pickel could really be a high end runway model but god the drama is so great and the challenges are hysterical. i just love it. i swear there needs to be more model reality shows or at least fashion related because to be honest this, america's next top model, and the hills (which features tons of teen vogue fashion stuff) are the most entertaining reality shows on tv. anyway everyone should watch this show if not for the hilarity then for the fact the their is a guy named gaston. oh and jesse might be my favorite wannabe model ever.

i will be updating with some various paris fashion week tid bits and celeb style stuff later this week. i have had a lot of work and been kinda distracted lately but don't worry i haven't disappeared just yet.

i have been having some trouble finding a cute gray over sized thick(ish) sweater. this one i found to be particularly adorable plus it's from victoria's secret and for some reason they make super comfy stuff so i figure this would be a nice pick. though there is and uber cute snap button with bow gray sweater at h&m which is even cuter though was not very comfy.

apparently for some reason i can not find any of the super cute 3.1 phillip lim stuff i have scene in some stores, but this is a pretty cute find. i really enjoy the colors though they are bland. it would definitely be good for nyc since everything here has a more bland tone. i just think its a nice comfy looking dress that you can easily dress up or dress down.

i have issues with brand names on clothing items/bags in general. i mean i get it its advertising and if you are selling clothing it's smart because if someone likes the shirt and sees it on someone else they know where they can get it. bands also have merch which i am a fan of because a lot of the shirts and stuff are pretty creative and awesome. now what i don't quite get is bookstores having merch. i mean sure it helps advertise, but why would people want to use such a plain bag with and ugly logo as a purse. okay so i will forgive you for using it as a book bag or such, but seriously if i see one more person uses a strand bookstore bag as a purse in this city i am gonna loose it. it's not even like you are being original and it serves no practical purpose since it has no pockets for various items so if say your phone rings you don't have to dig through the bag until whoops you miss the call. i just don't get the appeal. so please just stop it doesn't even make you look that smart, it just makes you look like a dumbass.

that phrase up in the subject line is probably my favorite of all of them because it pops into my mind every time i think of zac posen. i am very tempted to make my own house of holand esque tee with that on it. anyway enough of that ever since i saw that rachel bilson loved zac posen i have loved him too because except for that week rachel bilson wore overalls and spandex she has great style and i may be a little obsessed with her. also i kind of wanna be just like her so of course i was fascinated with posen. also when i was walking around bryant park celeb spotting and such the name on everyone's lips was zac posen. it was about the hottest show of the season and i can see why. i mean on craigs list tickets for it were selling for 1000+ it blew my mind. after now seeing it i completely understand why this show was so hot. most of the dresses were to die for. eve though some were a little flashy and out there they still managed to look classy, sophisticated, and elegant which is quite impressive for any designer.

now all the dresses in this entry are so beyond fabulous that i do not i think me or anyone can comprehend how breathtakingly amazing each design is. i swear i would sell my soul for any of these dresses any day.

i have talked a lot about poofy dresses in previous entries but i have to say unless to are going for a more flashy look zac posen definitely does it best. also what he does that i have not seen too much of is gorgeous floor length poofy dresses with just add a level of elegance to the whole show. all-in-all this collection would probably have to be my favorite of the season.

reem acra was another one of those designer i had not heard of until looking through designers on nymag.com. my favorite thing about her spring 08 collection would probably be how frickin shiny it all is. also it made me like yellow and purple together and until thinking about it for a while it did not even remind of the lakers which being born and raised in la is very hard to do.

i think the cut of this dress is darling but would look much better with larger breasts which neither me nor most runway models have. for some strange reason i actually like how the belt blends into the dress and also my favorite thing about the belt is how there is no excess belt tucked in or hanging out because ugh i absolutely hate when belts do that.

now this dress or at least i think that's what it is i found particularly interesting. i really do not know if i love it or hate it all i know is i just cannot look away from it. most black dresses these days do not draw this much attention because usually black dresses are simple but this is so far from the norm which is probably why i am so attracted to it.

puffy sleeves always make happy as do sparkley dresses so this is easily one of my favorite pieces from acra's collection this season. if i was not too short to even think of wearing long dresses this would definitely be one of my must haves if i had ultimated money of course. i just think this dress is so fabulous.

supafly nicholai

i was quite impressed with nicholai by nicky hilton because as much as their were a few items from her chick collection i liked (one that i even bought) overall i was not really a fan. personally she should have just stuck the the more couture side of fashion because that she certainly does well.

this first dress is very nicky hilton to me. i am not sure why but it just looks like something i can easily see her in. i think this is an adorable evening dress but my one problem with it is the one sleeve. for some reason i am really ocd about it and there either needs to be two or none at all. it's really hard for me to get past but if that were to be fixed i think it'd be a great dress for an evening out.

you probably might've guessed that with my love for heatherette and betsy johnson comes a love for poofy dresses which is really why i adore this nicholai dress. its just so fun and makes a statement but is still sleek and elegant. i also am a fan of the empire waist. overall it's just a very cute dress.

miss sixty you must be worth a trillion bucks

ever since i was an elementary school student i liked miss sixty of course i still shopped at baby gap (i mean i probably could still fit into the clothes i just hate the gap) so that i could never fit into them. this show though really impressed me more then their usual clothes i see on the racks.

i think leotards are a great trend i am constantly on ebay trying to find cute vintage ones but that never really works out, but now miss sixty has released the most fabulous leotard i have ever seen. pair this up with high waisted shorts, pants, or skirt and you have an absolutely breathtaking outfit. mad props to miss sixty for this one.

in addition to loving leotards i am also a major fan of unitards which miss sixty also manages to do amazingly. though i have never been a huge fan of wearing things with a brands name on them i really do enjoy the font/style that was used on this. it still is a bit tacky so i am not sure it's a must have of mine. i really have mixed feelings on it but if you wear it with the right things it could definitely be a sweet look.

gold (in addition to pink and yellow) is my favorite color of the moment. i actually got into loving yellow because i loved gold so much. also as you know i love high waisted bottoms and i really love having pockets. somehow three of my favorite things were all combined to make this skirt. i really don't think i have ever been so in love with a skirt. there are no words to even explain how phenomenal this is.

now marc jacobs definitely put on one of the most talked about shows this season. every blog and fashion site that somewhat covered fashion week has written something about it and of course i am gonna be covering it as well. this show was beyond brilliant. i do think it would be a mistake to wear most of the designs out, runway wise it looked fabulous and certainly caught people by surprise which is always nice.

when i see the dress i immediately think: miss. hawaii. not the specific miss. hawaii, whoever that may be, but i think this dress would be perfect for a general miss. hawaii. i think i really get this idea from the sash but it just screams that to me. now with that said this is one of the few pieces of this collection that i could see being worn to an award show, premier, charity event, ect. i think that's a main reason i showed this design because as much as i loved the crazier outfits they just seemed too impractical.

this is another piece i am fond because not only is it practical but it also could be worn on the day to day which makes me feel like this design fits the marc by mj collection much better. now in any case because this is so cute and so wearable i kind of wish i could jump in the screen and yoink it but unfortunately technology has not gotten that far but one day i hope it will.

now we come to the more insane side of things. i really do absolutely love these two designs but if anyone dare try to pull them off well i hope they work it well because it has the potential to be disastrous otherwise. now the one thing i actually hope catches on (more for fall/winter though) is the gloves. i actually love gloves especially long ones but they are so hard to find things to wear with but marc did a great job at matching them up perfectly so i really hope to somehow pick up on his genius and be able to pull of wearing gloves like these.

this season i got lucky enough to attend the marc by marc jacobs show. live i think it was much better then simply viewing the photos online because after the show when i was looking through pictures it was not nearly as mind blowing for me. first off though i just wanted to mention how kick ass the hair looked in this show especially when it had the pink sprayed in it.

now for this first design i do not think i would have been too fond of it just seeing in on the rack at the marc by mj store but for some odd reason i fell in love with it on the runway and i can not figure out why. i just love this dress and i really want it. hopefully it will look half as good on me or not since i am sure if he releases it it won't exactly be cheap.

when i saw this next design on the runway i wanted to jump out of my seat and go rip it off the model. looking back on it now though it looks dreadful. maybe i was just it a jittery state that led me to believe this was a fabulous design or maybe just now i can not get past the awful choice of color. i really hope this gets released in a prettier color so i can make a final decision on whether or not this is a brilliant design.

i swear this could just be the shortest dress ever made, but also happens to be one of the cutest in this collection. thankfully since i am 5'2'' this dress would probably come down to my knees. score one for being short. anyone i think this dress is just beyond adorable to wear out and about on a warm spring or summer day. i actually just want to throw it on and head to the beach and if you know me you know i am not a fan of the beach. also i think the bag is just precious which gets me excited since the current marc by mj bags are not doing it for me all.

stick to the l.a.m.b.

this is another line i saw getting some mixed reviews, which i really don't understand since i love l.a.m.b. and though i have not always been a huge gwen fan, i think she does have a knack for fashion design. generally i am just a fan of celeb's clothing lines, which for some reasons a lot of people have more reserves about.

now let me just start with how much i do not like the whole shirt and tie thing she decided to use multiple times in the show. i think this outfit would be close to perfect without it. as i have said before and i will say again i love the whole high waisted trend so this outfit immediately stuck out to me right away. now what i always enjoy is when designer put a twist of styles i already love with she managed to do with the ruffles on the side. now personally i wish it would be a bit longer since as much as i do love looking like a ho i would like to cover my thighs a little bit.

i love leopard print, even if that kills my bf, i just think it's fabulous. as with the last design i really enjoy how she made leopard print less tacky then it sometimes can be. though i think leopard print pants or short sleeve shirts are just blah i absolutely love leopard print dresses. i love how simple and classy she made this dress look and just like with the justsweet dresses you can easily wear this in the day or the evening and in my opinion this is much cuter then the justsweet dresses.

now from looking at other blogs and reading bits of reviews here and there i have not heard very good things about jlo's new line. now a reason i hate reviews is because they are just around to tell you what to think and let me tell you that is no way to go. if you like something it does not matter what others think of it because i swear you will get more compliments going for something unique rather then the norm. anyway back to the collection.

i really liked the whole cute simple with a little pizazz dress thing this line has going on. i love wearing little dresses in the spring and summer and unlike heatherette and betsey these can be easily worn casually during the day. now there are other designers that i will still get dresses from over these but i cannot get enough of little dresses right now so the more the merrier. also these dresses are great for clubbin since they are skanky but also fashionable so you really, in the words of the great hannah montana, get the best of both worlds with these dresses.

day-um heatherette

so i love me some heatherette and by the looks of this picture (since i couldn't find a full video of the show) it looks like one of the dopest shows this season. i really hope these people on the left are getting funky on the runway because that would be the shit.

now if i ever need a sexy, poofy, kick ass dress heatherette or betsey are definitely the designers to go to since they do it best. i love the sparkly, sexy, but suprisingly not too flashy feel of the dress to the right. i swear i wish i had ultimated cash to blow on their dresses and ultimated 80s dance parties to go to.

now for some reason i have seen a lot of kids on the runway this season mostly kids and grandkids of designers but heatherette actually had the cutest little girls work the runway. this girl has to be my favorite maybe because of the fro or how they also have the older girl there spinning her around. but aaaah the whole thing is just too cute for words. also the jacket the older model is wearing is straight up dope.

i know not a lot of this is outfit related but you should already know that heatherette is amazing in every collection they do.

recently when seeing the jessica stam dkny ads i started to become fond of the line and not regard it as an older people line. i also i am fan of clandestine for dkny though i hate pete wentz, but if anyone knows where to find that line let me know.

now the first design here is not one i am a fan of. the pattern itself is cute enough and i lovelovelovelovelove pockets in dresses, but this whole orange and black thing they have going on for part of the collection. it is just dreadful. i mean who wants to dress as if it's halloween in spring. i don't even think it's ever cute to dress like this on halloween. someone really needs to stop this because if it catches on i will be scared to leave the house, but at least i'll spend less money on clothes.

okay so i like dkny because it's very business chic. now most of their clothes i would never wear out and about but if i had a job in a classy business were i was forces to wear a suit i would live at dkny. now i know few people can pull off the all whit shorts suit but i love how they took a typically man's looking suit and made it fit great for a girl. i think this style is very classic for the working girl.

do the diesel

i have always been a fan of diesel though i don't think i have ever worn it 'cause it take a certain kind of person to pull off much of their stuff and a certain amount of cash and honestly they are other designers i would rather spend my cash on, but overall i think this collection pretty nice.

this first design is ace though the leotard (i believe that's the correct term) can be found in bathing suit form at amerper. i do love the amerper version but this looks cotton or spandex which would be more comfy and less shiny which shockingly i like. also the way it is being worn with the off shoulder t-shirt with my two favorite colors. this is the second time these colors have come up so fingers crossed pink and yellow will be very in this spring.

diesel managed to pull off the big pocket trend really well. i have seen and tried on dress like that at h and m but with diesel the dresses and romper (as seen on the right) are much tighter so i think that really helps. i am not sure if big pockets can hold things very well since i have never had any experience so if you are looking for something useful this trend might not be your best bet. also rompers are wonderful especially with a v-neck, a bitch if you need to pee but there are things you must sacrifice for looking cute.

i have said before how i love this high waisted trend. i think it is absolutely delightful. now most of the high waisted styles these days are extremely tight up top. like i have a pair i have to unbutton the top button after i eat so i can breath. now diesel mixed it up and i love it. i have seen some of this trend here and there but i don't know diesel made me really fall in love with it so i will (try to) save up my money so i can get myself a pair of these because they are truly precious.

i discovered custo barcelona last week when i discovered tickets for him and zac posen on craigslist (which were of course way out of my price range) but surely enough i fell in with his unique designs with fun colors and prints. one thing i love about his designs that i don't see in many designers is how he uses memorizing patterns in most of his line.

in the outfit on the left i really love how he put the two pieces with such different patterns and manages to make them not clash. also somehow makes the black fit really well with the purple and silver hues used in both pieces. my only criticisms is the bag that seems to not fit with the colors or patterns of the outfit what-so-ever and just really throws the whole thing off for me.

now once upon a time with i was in about 7th grade one sleeves were so cool and i got a bright red one that showed off my midriff quite nicely. i believe that was one of my biggest fashion mistakes of that time of my life and believe me i was a terrible dresser. anyway ever since i figured out how to dress myself i though one shoulders were ugly and tacky because they usually are, but this dress is amazing. i swear it makes me want to go out and buy a one sleeve dress but i doubt anyone can do it as well as thing. it just flows so perfectly and doesn't get to flashy as many one sleeves tend to be.

okay so i realize how tacky this outfit looks but sometimes fabulous is tacky. now i really could just be attracted to this because its so fucking shiny or maybe its just the high waisted hot pants which i am sure if you wore out you'd get asked "how much?" but i could less because i think it's tons of crazy fun though i really hope no one wears anything like this out and about 'cause that would just be scary. it's great for the runway but that's about it.

betsey bestsey betsey

betsy johnson is one of my favorite fashion designers because well she is fucking insane and wild and i just love love love her. i swear she could take the simplest thing and make it fun. her spring collection is definitely fun and one of the best collections this season. i swear to god i want to have make love to every single one of her outfits. in the show itself i adore how some of the models had escorts and even more how she used a lot of oldies songs mixed in with modern songs especially when css has incorporated. also as with sui her models got to have a lot more fun then in a typical show.

these first two dressed you see are just too fabulous for words but i will try my best to give them some. as i mentioned before i LOVE pink now i also love poofy thing though they can get annoying to wear they still look amazingly kick ass. this is especially shown on the left dress which i love how the black petticoat type under skirt is a completely different entity (fabric and wise) but still manages to flow with the rest of the outfit. now the dress on the left i have tot say is much more practical to wear out since it is not as poofy it makes things like sitting down much easier. both thought are wonderful it really just depends what you're looking for.

this next dress might be one of the most adorable things i have ever seen. to start of i absolutely adore the use of heart shaped glasses in the show. i love heart shaped glasses but these are even cuter then the ones i own so looks like i am gonna be searching for some more like these. but as for the dress i cannot find one thing slightly wrong with it. i love the waist line and the buttons down the side are just tdf. there is just too much cuteness for me to handle.

last year i was really into the whole sailor style mostly because as a child i was obsessed with sailor moon. now i have faded out of that well i had until i saw these outfits. now i am counting down the days until next spring when i can go broke buying outfits similar to these. i am just so overwhelmed with how fabulous she made the sailor style.

now before moving onto the next designer i just want to suggest going to the official fashion week website and watching the video because it is the most fun you will see on the runway and has a great message to VOTE at the end which is nice to see in the world of fashion.

oh benjamin cho

i have yet to determine if benjamin cho is a genius or just out of his mind. probably both since in fashion all geniuses are out of their mind just wait til we get to the great marc jacobs.

now this outfit is probably my favorite of the line. most likely because it's the least out there. i really enjoy the coat here especially the big pockets which i have yet to decide if it's a good trend but on this it most definitely is. now i do love the coat to death but my favorite thing about this outfit has to be the shoes. i love the thickness of the laces and just the converse type shoes made into a boot is just so cute. i think it is just classic.

now though there weren't many outfits that stuck out to me or that i would ever love to where i just wanted to mention how kickass benjamin cho is. i have to say he is one of the coolest looking designers ever and i really wanna just be his bfflz.

bcbg unfortunately

so i am huge fan of bcbg maxaria. i got my prom dress aka my fave dress i have ever bought. of course i was extremely excited to see what they had in store for spring 08 and boy was i disappointed. this might be my least favorite line of the season. maybe it was because i had such high hopes but pretty much their entire line was dull and droopy. some of it even reminded me of something my mother would wear straight off the racks of eileen fisher which is just ugh. i do not how how anyone who has come up with such beautiful designs could have failed so badly. my only hope is that whatever is actually released in spring 08 is a completely new collection. i can not even go into the details of this all since i am just overwhelming disgusted by it but feel free to view the pictures and make up your own opinions since i have already spent far too many words on the matter.

the fab anna sui

i hadn't ever really heard of anna sui before looking through the fashion week photos and boy was i so glad to have discovered her. her designs sure were out there but that's what i love about them. while watching the show on the fashion week website i loved how relaxed and fun her show was especially how much fun the models had on this runway. i also loved the how she chose to do the hair. for me it's definitely runner-up to the marc jacobs shows' hair even though its a bit "emo" it makes emo fun.

as for the design on the left i am a huge fan of of high waisted shorts especially with suspenders even if most tend to eat your vag alive. but besides these adorable shorts the whole outfit really fits together perfectly. another one of my favorite parts in the belt. i love how the tiny little bow fits perfectly over the buttons. also the shirt, the socks, and the bracelet bring the whole outfit with their pinkness so that the outfit in coordinated but not too matchy.

now before i talk about the outfit on the right let me just say how much i adore this model because of how much fun she had on this runway. i highly recommend going onto the official mb fashion week website and watching the video just to see her. as for the outfit, this just proves anna sui is out of her mind and i am loving every minute of it. now i think i or anyone else who isn't working the runway could pull it off but day-um this girl wears it well. if i were to ever see these pants on a mannequin i would probably shrug and look away but now i wish i could pull something like this. maybe it's the model or the way sui paired it with some great pieces especially the jacket and scarf combo which is one of my absolute fave pieces from the collection. its just so bright shiny and colorful and has my two favorite colors of the moment hot pink and yellow. this outfit just wows the hell out of me.

okay so i really am having mixed feelings about the whole zig zag pattern trend because part of me really wants it and the other half of me thinks its tacky and will fade in a few weeks. for now i am keeping away until i find one that looks fabulous on me which i doubt will happen or until i find one that comes with a matching umbrella. i mean how many people can coordinate their outfits with an umbrella which is why i think this outfit is pure genius. i hope that if sui releases the top in her spring collection that she will include the umbrella. actually i hope all designers will make matching umbrellas for their spring lines or not because then i might go broke because i know i won't be able to stay away from such genius.

mister wang

so i am start things out in this blog with the mercedes benz spring 2008 nyc fashion week, which i had the opportunity to attend a show of but i'll get to that later. for now i will just be talking about the alexander wang collection.

i actually i am very fond of this collection even though he uses more bland colors which you will soon learn i am not a huge fan of. though i think the simplicity of this collection is what makes it so fabulous.

the look on the left is one of my favorites. the shirt looks incredibly convertible and could be worn with virtually anything unless you are wearing white pants which 90% of the time is a bad idea. anyway the shorts are also very plain and simple and the loose fit just adds to the flowy, comfortable feel of the outfit. now what really brings the whole outfit together for me is the blazer. i absolutely would kill for this blazer. i just love how wang has made the blazer casual. all in all this outfit is tdf.

now for the design on the right. again these shorts come into play and though i am a big fan of them i think they look much better with a longer shirt since they are so baggy but that's not why i chose this outfit. the sweater here is absolutely marvelous. i love metallics (i really am just attracted to shiny things) and this is the first sweater i have seen that has successfully done metallic. also the gray linings tone down the brightness of the whole sweater which keeps it front being too flashy. all-in-all this would be a great sweater for everyday wear.
